Evaluation Question Seven.

In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Firstly, after tons of research of different magazines based around the same genres of music as mine, I found that each of them had a colour regime in which they stuck to throughout every page of the magazine. Most of them consisted of no more than four colours throughout the magazine and each colour seemed to be used on most pages, organised brilliantly. I developed on to this by using the same technique for myself, which proved to be correct from the audience feedback given. The way in which my product challenges other media products regarding the colour scheme is because the three colours i have used seem to stand out, and look as though they go together. Therefore may stand out more than some other magazines which are flashed in all kinds of bright colours.

Secondly, there is the situation on the front cover of the magazine which is purposely put there in order to persuade the audience and have them wanting to buy the magazine to gain information on the situation. Because of this, I believe that the subject is attracting the audience to buy the magazine. This challenges other media products as they may not have such a flashy situation as mine does. I never really developed this idea from any other media product and thought of it myself due to the persuasion that it holds. However, it does use what other magazines may use with little sub headings that may say something along the lines of "Oasis Reunion?" to attract the attention of the audience.
